This unique opportunity lets you experience what it’s like to have a career in a high-demand field such as carpentry, electrical, operator engineering, laborers and more. You’ll learn how a career path in the trades provides:

Program Highlights
You will gain hands-on experience at the New England Laborers’ Training Center and learn about the many pathways available to Construction Craft Laborers. Try your hand at:
- building and breaking down staging
- operating specialized surveying equipment
- safely identifying and removing hazardous waste materials often encountered during demolition
Visit the International Union of Operating Engineers and experience the daily work of an operating engineer. Use state-of-the-art simulators (virtual training) and one-on-one, supervised instruction to “operate” heavy construction equipment — excavators, bulldozers, and loaders.
Considering a career as a Carpenter? Spend the day at the New England Carpenters Training Center with skilled craftsmen and learn what it takes to “build” a career as a residential or commercial carpenter.
Spend the day with Master Electricians and Master Plumbers and learn the steps to become a licensed professional. Understand the path from apprenticeship to journeyperson to state licensure.
When the week concludes, you will be able to identify your next steps for a well-paying, in-demand career and will know how to pursue:
- pre-apprenticeships
